TYPES OF SAROUK RUGS

These rugs are basically available in two types:

  • Traditional
  • American

Traditional designs consist of Herati, both or Gul Hannai patterns all over or in a medallion layout. The medallion comes in various shapes such as hexagons, ovals, diamonds, etc. The main colors used in the traditional designs are red, blue, charcoal black and orange.Whereas, if we talk about American designs, they generally consist of disconnected floral sprays, which branch out from floral medallions by focusing on red and blue colors. A specialty of American rugs is the presence of a dughi pink color, which is prepared by mixing yogurt with a dye mixture.
